Vision Statement & Top-level summary of your game idea
Survive from the school bullying events with the chance of taking actions to save yourself as well as others, discovering possible bullying events happened in varied school locations such as classroom, dining hall, corridor, office and so on. The goal is to keep one’s stress level low until graduation day or helping promote school bullying intervention programs including the petition from the victim, publishing school policy of restricting school bullying, impelling empathy and kindness education to bring positive school climax and stop school bullying from happening. Each player should try to balance both their own mental health state and the achievement of the collective’s goal, establishing a positive school climax, to make the biggest gains. Reflecting on the real social issue with the events that appeared in the game is the core of the game.
Why Our Project is Innovative?
a) The concept and the topic of our transformative game are interesting and different from other projects. We are dealing with the issues of school bullying, the topic helps make our game stand out. We would offer players a special perspective to help them experience events that they would not have in real life. We would create an immersive game world for players to obtain their new perspective towards school bullying.
b) Our project addresses the presenting issue through a role-play survival mechanism. We have designed our role-playing character as people who featured with a higher risk of being bullied based on our research. Players in our game would play from the perspective of a school bullying victim, which is a new perspective for most of the players who might not suffer from school bullying in real life. We would like our players to be empathized with victims of school bullying in real life through role-playing them. And we would like to let players experience how to target people of school bullying who are trying to survive. Most importantly, we designed the game mechanism to let players be cooperative, which is the message that we wish to speak out that everyone should know their role in school-bullying events and has their own responsibility to prevent it from happening. And this is the only way for us to stop school bullying in real life.
c) We feel that the “selling point” of our game is that the role-playing elements of experiencing a new perspective of school bullying would potentially attract players to play with. Players are able to be another person and experience their life events would be potentially interesting to them. Besides, the survival concept would potentially trigger players to try out and see if they are able to survive or not.
